About Me

Dr. Melissa J. Dudley is a licensed psychologist specializing in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of social-emotional difficulties. She offers psychological and educational diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, parent consultations, and parent-child therapy. In addition to her private psychology practice, Dr. Dudley is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology at Alfred University where she teaches courses on child and adolescent social, emotional and cognitive assessment, supervision in psychology, and child and adolescent psychotherapies.

She earned her doctorate in Counseling and School Psychology from the University at Buffalo in 2020 and her Masters degree in Social Work in 2014. She has trained in a variety of mental health and school settings including at the University at Buffalo Psychological Services Center, Dent Neurological Institute, and she completed her predoctoral training in inpatient and outpatient settings at the University of Rochester Medical Center, providing psychological services including group and individual counseling, psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations, cognitive behavioral therapy and neuropsychological evaluations.

  • Clinical Interests

    Her clinical interests include assessment and treatment of anxiety related disorders in adolescents and young adults, cognitive and social-emotional assessment, and school-based interventions including mindfulness and strengths-based approaches.

    Her research interests include school-based prevention and intervention, student and faculty social-emotional well-being, and promoting protective factors for youth

    Dr. Dudley is a member of the New York State Association of School Psychologists (NYASP) and Chapter G Co-Representative for Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties. She is also a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, American Psychological Association, New York State Psychological Association, and Western New York Psychological Association
